1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on BeePortal.NET or using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Description of Service

BeePortal.NET is an online beehive monitoring and management platform. The service enables beekeepers to:

• Monitor hive weight, temperature, humidity and other sensor data transmitted by BeePortal scale devices
• Manage apiaries and hives, including inspections and record-keeping
• View dashboards and reports about hive health and activity

3. User Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address to register
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
• One person may only maintain one account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit the platform
• Share your account credentials with third parties

5. Subscriptions & Plans

• Free accounts are available with limited features (e.g. fewer hives and apiaries)
• Paid plans (Basic, Plus, Premium, VIP) unlock higher limits and additional functionality
• Plan details and pricing are available on our website
• Subscriptions are non-refundable once the billing period has started

6. Devices & Hardware

• BeePortal scale devices are sold separately and may be registered to your account after purchase
• Each device can only be associated with one account at a time
• You are responsible for the physical care and installation of your devices
• BeePortal.NET is not liable for data loss due to device malfunction, connectivity issues or environmental damage

7. Data Accuracy

Sensor readings and calculated values (e.g. weight trends, temperature) are provided as-is. While we strive for accuracy, BeePortal.NET does not guarantee the precision of measurements and should not be the sole basis for critical beekeeping decisions.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep BeePortal.NET available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance windows, updates and unforeseen circumstances may cause temporary outages. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance of planned downtime.

9. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from the Account page after confirming your current password
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
• Free accounts and expired paid accounts that remain inactive for more than 12 months may be marked for manual deletion after a warning email is sent to the account email address
• When an account is deleted, user-owned data is removed as part of the deletion workflow, except for limited records we must retain for security, accounting, fraud prevention or legal obligations

10. Limitation of Liability

BeePortal.NET is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of our service, including but not limited to loss of bees, honey production or equipment.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account information: Email address, name, surname, address and phone number (if provided in your profile).

Device & sensor data: Weight measurements, temperature, humidity, battery status and other telemetry transmitted by your BeePortal devices.

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, timestamps and device/browser information for service improvement.

Login data: IP address, login timestamps and device fingerprints for security and fraud prevention.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the BeePortal.NET service
• To display your hive monitoring dashboards and reports
• To send account-related communications (verification, password resets, security alerts)
• To send service lifecycle notices such as plan expiry warnings and inactivity deletion-review warnings
• To detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorised access
• To improve the platform and develop new features

3. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored on secured servers
• We use encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel only
• We implement login rate limiting and trusted device verification to protect accounts

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

• When required by law or legal process
• To protect the rights, safety or property of BeePortal.NET or its users
• With service providers who assist in operating the platform (e.g. email delivery), under strict confidentiality agreements

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for:

• Session management: To keep you logged in during your visit
• Trusted device tokens: To remember verified devices and reduce login friction
• Last visited page: To return you to your previous location after logging in

We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored on the platform (visible in your Account page)
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile at any time
• Delete your own account from the Account page, or contact support if you cannot access the account
• Export your hive and inspection data

7. Data Retention

• Account data is retained for as long as your account is active
• Free accounts and expired paid accounts that remain inactive for more than 12 months may be queued for manual deletion review after a warning email is sent
• Sensor/telemetry data is retained for the lifetime of your account
• Login attempt records are automatically purged after 24 hours
• When an account is deleted, personal data and owned operational data are removed from the live system as part of the deletion process, except where retention is required for security, accounting, fraud prevention or legal obligations

8. Children's Privacy

BeePortal.NET is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years of age.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
